What to expect

Invitations

Invitations go out individually, in small batches, as space opens up — not through an automated waitlist.

iOS — TestFlight

Threshold is available now through Apple TestFlight. Once you're invited, you'll receive a TestFlight link by email — full install steps below.

Android — Google Play

Threshold is available now through Google Play's Closed Testing program. Once you're invited, you'll get an opt-in link to join by email.

Track ID

Your free monthly Track ID limit during BETA is set generously for testing — higher than what's planned once Threshold leaves BETA. Scan (label recognition) has no limit, during BETA or after.

Installing Threshold through TestFlight

Five steps, no account of your own to set up.

Check your email

Look for a message from Apple — the sender is TestFlight or App Store Connect, not Static Channel directly. It'll mention Threshold and have a button to view the invite.

Open the invite

Tap “View in TestFlight” in that email, on the same iPhone or iPad you want Threshold on.

Install the TestFlight app, if you don't have it

Your phone will prompt you to get it from the App Store first. It's free, made by Apple, and just for testing apps like this one — go ahead and install it.

Accept and install

Open the invite link again (or open TestFlight itself), tap “Accept,” then “Install” next to Threshold.

You're in

Threshold appears on your home screen like any other app from here on. Future updates install the same way, right through TestFlight.

You do not need an Apple Developer account.

If any screen asks you to enroll in the Apple Developer Program, that's the wrong path — back out. TestFlight installs and updates apps for testing without one; a developer account is a completely separate thing for people who build apps, not people testing them.

A camera icon over your keyboard when searching?

That's iOS's own Live Text feature, not something Threshold adds — Apple gives apps no way to turn it off. If it gets in your way: Settings → General → Language & Region → turn off Live Text, or Settings → Camera → turn off Show Detected Text to disable it just for the Camera app.
