Threshold doesn't tell you what music to love. It helps you understand the collection you've spent a lifetime building.
Every release should make it feel more considered, not more crowded.
A living picture of the direction, not a list of ship dates. BETA testers get an early look at all of this — feedback shapes what gets prioritized.
V1 — Current BETA
Scan, Track ID, collection management, crates, Set Builder, RekordBox round-trip, Discogs collection + want-list import, Places, Connections & Recommendations, a redesigned Search, and a recomposed Collection opening are all shipped and in active testing. No new features are being added during BETA — everything left before public app store release is hardening: bug fixes and reliability work, Discogs attribution compliance, quota tuning, a pre-ship UI polish pass, and closing out the business-side checklist.
V2 — Refinement
A better instrument, not more of one. Continued accessibility, performance, and interface refinement for larger collections. No new intelligence here — that comes later, once there's real history to draw from.
V3 — Collector Experience
Deeper private life for a collection that's been lived in for a while: a better Recommendations experience with real history, memory and timeline for the places you've dug, and better crate workflows. Shareable Crates — a deliberate, shareable version of a crate — waits here too, pending a legal path we haven't cleared yet.
V4 — Collection Intelligence
Search becomes a doorway, not just a filter. Once there's enough history in your own collection, Threshold starts noticing shape — which labels you gravitate to, which artists cluster together, what mixes well with what you're already playing. Real BPM/key detection for vinyl is part of this: today that data comes from a Rekordbox import, but vinyl-only collections deserve the same smart crate-building digital already gets. Always based on your collection. Never “people like you.”
V5 — Living Collection
Not a dashboard. An occasional look at the story your collection has been telling all along — where things came from, who introduced you to what, how your taste moved over the years. Observations, not achievements. Threshold isn't trying to get you to open it every day.
Threshold isn't a social network, and it isn't trying to replace streaming — it's a companion to a collection that's already yours.
